This concert was the closing EM concert
in Europe. In spite of the bad weather with darkness, snow and iced streets,
more than 150 visitors found their way to the mountains in Solingen, on
top the castle Schloß Burg...

LIFE
is
a recording during the concert of December 20th 1997 in the knighthall
of the castle Schloß Burg, Solingen. As usual I was supported by
my colleague Volker Zimmer who played again marvellous his saxophones...
All parts were previously unreleased. Some of them are cover versions of
other tracks:
Pina tanzt
("Pina dances") is a more rhythmical than the experimental track taken
from the album "Gesichter der Stadt Wuppertal". Most of the incoming reviews
from this album wanted a more rhythmical version..., because they saw in
the person Pina Bausch more a dancer than an experimentator and revolutionary
of modern dance... |

In the Souk is
one of the single versions (Gold Series CD 18, 23) of the track "Basar
Bizarrr" taken from "Seven Pillars of Wisdom V.1". Here is the focus more
of oriental improvisation, to give an impression of a walk through an Arabic
market, a part of a town, a basar... Jerusalem
is
one of my favourite music tracks. I made an version with my voice in four
overdubs... You know there is a version as a battle, imaging Engelhard
II. on the Second Crusade, taken from the album "Schloß Burg"...
("nor shall my sword sleeps in my hand...") Motion
of the Stars Part B: this
version is the experimental version, version A will on the forthcoming
album “Düsseldorf” for the formally stellarium in Düsseldorf,
today the concerthall "Tonhalle".. |
